Location, location, location... Right on baby! You had to call for directions. You got lost in Bethlehem Park. You heard all kinds of rumors about the neighborhood. There is no sign on the building. You had to park a block away. You had to wait for a table. It’s Friday night, you came for fish and we ran out just before you sat down. That was then…… This is now……… You got your directions and to your delight, the place isn’t as hard to get to as you thought… Madison to Jackson on the way in and Spruce to Madison on the way out. The rumors weren’t true… the neighborhood is classic American sprinkled with old timers and despite some kids hanging out on the corner you know you’re in a tight knit and safe neighborhood. There’s no sign by design. When you bring someone here for the first time, part of the fun is making them think you’re taking them to a little Italian corner joint that nobody knows about. We like it that way. We’ll forget about the sign if you keep bringing in new friends. Parking a block away is a good thing when you had cheesecake for dessert. You might have walked 10 blocks for a good meal at least once in your life…if you’ve been to Manhattan, you know what I mean. You ran into four people you knew during the wait and …. So what…we ran out of fish and you got the lasagna instead. Good thing we ran out of fish. I love this place! It’s got 80 years worth of character. It looks at you, it speaks to you. It greets you with a smile each time you walk in the door and says take care, I’ll miss you, each time you leave. It’s teeming with attitude. These walls have some good stories….too bad they can’t talk…good thing they can’t talk. Because of all of this you don’t just come to the Mulberry, you experience the Mulberry. It’s not the supermodel you always wanted to be with and be seen with, but more like the girl you want to take home to Mom. The exterior doesn’t blow you away, but once you see what’s on the inside you can’t help but fall in love. Care, quality, and attention to detail are foremost. The Mulberry is proof that people are comfortable with what’s familiar. The nostalgic walls match our nostalgic approach to our cooking. We choose our ingredients for our customers the way a Grandmother chooses ingredients for her family. Some of our recipes are over a hundred years old and have been passed down from generation to generation. You’ll taste it. Please join us at the Mulberry. Your Hosts – Tim Eberle and Joe Jerge
